Chittorgarh History :
Chittorgarh is situated in south rajasthan and have a very old and world famous fort called chittorgarh fort. The fort is made on a hill like structure and around it on ground level is chittorgarh city. So there are lots of visiting places on both chittorgarh city and chittorgarh fort. The fort was made by chitrangad mori and was capital of mewar (southern rajasthan udaipur). Lots of rajput kings like ruled here and developed many great monuments which can be seen only here. Rajput are known for their loyality and bravery for their motherland. In mughal time , many mughal emperor tried to make win over this great and historical fort , but the brave kings of mewar fought till death to defeat them and saved the honour of the motherland while the rajput princess burn themselves in fire and that unique and great event is called Johar. There were 3 times johar done on chittorgarh fort and rajput ladies end their lives in the fire.
Both the chittorgarh fort is one of the most historical places in india and this fort is also Asia's largest fort. In the starting journey of chittorgarh fort , one have to pass through the chittorgarh city and have to follow fort road. The fort external walls are surrounded with the blank hole where soldiers could put there guns and other weapons and could fire of enemy from hidden places. There are seven gates of chittorgarh fort , these gates are all made for restricting the entry of enemy in the fort.
First gate of chittorgarh fort is known as padan pol. Here some of the famous schools of city are made running from many years and also bhag singh rawat temple is made in the left side of pol. Bagha singh rawat known as bagha rawat fought bravely against enemies and died here. Second gate is known as bheron pol and here a monument and temple of kallaji rathod is made. Many devotees come here. Third gate is known as hanuman pol and here old hanuman temple is made here. Fourth gate is known as ganesh pol and here old ganesh temple is made here. Fifth gate is known as jorla pol and it is known as jorla because of its jointed with its next pol. Sixth pol is laxman pol and old laxman temple is made here. Between sixth and seventh pol baba ramdev pir temple and chatri which have one small shiva temple. Seventh pol is known as ram pol and have old ram-sita temple just near. In front of ram temple there is fatta memorial made in the memory a great rajput warrior fatta ji sosidia.
Proceeding from ram pol , above is tulja bhawani temple which was made by banveer. And from here chittorgarh fort upper surface comes up which have great history , monuments and legendry stories of great rajput kings. The one and only ticket window is just near to tulja bhawani temple, here you can get tickets for entering on victory tower , padmini palace etc and also you can hire guide who will guide each and every place on the place. In front of ticket window there is view point from there whole chittorgarh city can be viewed and watching sunset here is great pleasure. Chittorgarh fort have many places,temples,kunds(water reserve). Some of the famous places are shringar chori, kumbha mahal , fateh prakash palace , banveer ki diwar , pataleshwar mahadev , jain sat bees devri , meera temple , vijay stambh (victory tower) , gomukh kund , samidheshwar mahadev temple , north johar gate , hathi kund , jaymal fatta haveli , suraj kund , kalika mata temple , padmini palace , chandrabholeshwar mahadev , chogan , chitrangad mori tank , mrig van (forest), magleshwar mahadev , bhimlat kund , fatehshwar mahadev , adhbhutji temple , mahalakshmi temple , suraj pol , neelkanth mahadev , kirti stambh , lakhota bari , charbhuja ji temple, muniji temple ,annapurna and ban mata temple , kukreshwar kund , sas-bahu temple , ratan singh palace , ratneshwar kund , ganesh gati temple.You can explore more about these places here - Click Here
