Being a historical city, there are lots of stories and poems are written on chittorgarh, maharana pratap and his famous horse chetak, meera bai.

Holi Festival @ Chittorgarh Rajasthan - 2015

Holi - the festival of colours will be celebrated all over on 5th and 6th march 2015 this year. Holika was the name of father's sister of 'Bhakt Prahlad'. Prahlad was a great devotee of lord vishnu. Because of jealous nature, holika decided to burn herself with prahlad. Because of faith in lord vishnu, holika burned totally but Prahlad was totally escaped. Thats why bunch of dry tree surrounds a long wooden shaft. That shaft plays role of Prahlad and dry trees plays role of Holika. Holika Dahan will be on 5th march. In the evening time, in the presence of all ages peoples.

The next day of Holika Dahan known as 'Dhulendi' in north india and it will be celebrated on 6th march 2015. People will colour each other with 'Gulal' and other colours. It shows the brotherhood in society. Many people creates hurble colours at home by using the flowers of the 'DHAK', these flowers also called 'Kesuliya'.

In chittorgarh rajasthan , it becomes large festival throughout city. All peoples enjoy with colors and the whole city looks like colorful place. Visit chittorgarh this holi and enjoy the festival of colours. There are lots of places to visit at chittorgarh fort and chittorgarh city. Once you will come there , you will feel the glory of rajputana. 

सादा जीवन और दयालु स्वभाव वाले महाराणा प्रताप की वीरता और स्वाभिमान तथा देशभक्ति की भावना से अकबर भी बहुत प्रभावित हुआ था। जब मेवाङ की सत्ता राणा प्रताप ने संभाली, तब आधा मेवाङ मुगलों के अधीन था और शेष मेवाङ पर अपना आधिपत्य स्थापित करने के लिये अकबर प्रयासरत था।राजस्थान के कई परिवार अकबर की शक्ति के आगे घुटने टेक चुके थे, किन्तु महाराणा प्रताप अपने वंश को कायम रखने के लिये संघर्ष करते रहे और अकबर के सामने आत्मसर्मपण नही किये।

CHITTORGARH - A HUB FOR CUSTARD APPLE FARMING

Custard apple are one of the most delicious fruit. In hindi it is called 'SITAFAL' and it is said that Maa Sita (Wife of lord ram) had eaten this fruit and thats why the name is.

Generally custard apple grown in the winter season and on hill area.

A custard apple tree looks like some middle sized tree having green colored fruits on its branches.There are many places in india where this great fruit is grown. But on chittorgarh fort in rajasthan , custard apple are grown on whole fort. In about 10km of area , everywhere visitors can see this fruits trees.
